42x Zoom Function

Bring Any Image Right Up Close. Equipped with a 42x zoom function (a 21x optical zoom and a 2x digital zoom), the camera lets you zoom in and out in a total of 12 steps (10-step optical zoom and 2-step digital zoom) to view objects that are close or far away.

Two-Way Voice Communications

Use of the built-in microphone and a separately purchased amp-equipped speaker enables two-way voice communication (transceiver system)*2 between the network camera and a PC used to monitor the camera image. Voice transmission and reception can be switched easily from the PC used to monitor the image. For example, it allows people in a head office to provide instructions or messages to people on a sales floor while observing the image on their PC.

Enhanced Image Expression

The BB-HCM381 features a CCD for shape image expression.The image refreshing speed (maximum) has been increased to 30 images/sec for smoother displays of moving images.The Color Night View Mode brings the minimum light requirement from 10 lx down to 0.09 lx, letting you capture images even in dimly lit places.

Standard SD Memory Card Slot

Images captured by the network camera can be recorded directly onto an SD Memory Card (sold separately). *Voices cannot be recorded. What you need to set up system:

• A regular straight Category 5 or 6 Ethernet cable
• An available port on your hub, switch or router
• For WLAN (802.11b) connection, use an 802.11b Wireless Device Point plus 802.11b Wireless Access Point or wireless broadband router

Installation methods:

The Panasonic BB-HCM381 is designed for installation on an Ethernet network. This involves assigning it an IP address, automatically or manually. Depending on how your network is configured, the following methods may be used:

• FREE Panasonic Internet Dynamic DNS Service. The Viewnetcam service allows you to create a personal web address (e.g.,http://bob.viewnetcam.com) at which your cameras live image can be found on the Internet. • Panasonic IP Utility for Windows
• From a command prompt, arp -s and ping may be used On a mac, simply go to My network devices in the Safari browser
