The Axis 221A is an IP CCTV Camera with Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) capability. Superior image quality is provided using a progressive scan CCD sensor, which enables moving images to be presented without distortion

Day and night functionality allows the camera to automatically switch between a color image during daylight conditions and light sensitive black & white mode during low light conditions. The camera comes fitted with a high quality Pentax, varifocal DC-iris lens. With Power over Ethernet capacity (IEEE 802.3af) installation is made easier, cheaper and more secure since Power over Ethernet can take advantage of UPS (uninterrupted power supply), which provides back-up power in case of a power failure.

The 221A provides up to 45 frames per second in all resolutions ranging up to 640x480 as well as supporting simultaneous Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 video streams to optimize image quality and bandwidth efficiency

With a built-in multi-window for video motion detection, network load and storage needs are reduced by uploading video only when change is detected. Th device comes with 2 alarm inputs and 1 output for connecting external devices such as door sensors and relays to activate light or close doors

Scheduled and triggered event functionality is b built in with notification via e-mail, TCP, HTTP, and upload of images via e-mail, FTP & HTTP. Capability is integrated to insert privacy masking, custom logo or overlay image in the video stream,

The 221A supports up to 20 simultaneous users and virtually an unlimited number of users if using multicast. Security functions include multi-user level password protection for restricted camera access, IP address filtering and HTTPS. External uses can be implemented with Axis 290A or 290B Outdoor Housing
