Bridge the Gap with Hybrid IP Products

Many analogue CCTV systems already interface with Digital Video Recorders that allow the transmission of images on demand or on alarm over an existing IP network. The new generation of CCTV installs or very major upgrades in existing IP rich environments ultimately will see the replacement of analogue cameras within local networks. However, for existing analogue users the transition stages before going completely IP based will utilize Hybrid IP Products.

Hybrid IP acts as an integration bridge, enabling existing analogue system components and new digital-based CCTV system components to work together. Hybrid IP offers the functional benefits of IP system - for example, remote accessibility, cost-effectiveness and flexibility - without scrapping your investment in an analogue system.

Video Servers : Extend your Analogue system

Video Servers explained

Analogue cameras of all types, such as fixed, dome, indoor, outdoor, fixed dome, pan/tilt/zoom, as well as specialty cameras, can all be integrated in a IP network video system using Video Servers. The coax cable from the analogue camera is simply connected to the analogue input on the video server, which then digitizes, compresses, and sends the video over a local network or across the Internet. Once the video is on the network, it is identical to a video stream coming from a network camera, and ready to be integrated into network video systems. Simply put – a video server turns an analogue camera into a network camera.

Network Recorders & Remote Transmission:

These hybrid systems combine the recording capability of traditional DVRs with the sophisticated alarm management more required for remote monitoring and alarm verification by a third party monitoring system such as GoldenEye.  These systems are rich in functionality selected models are in full compliance with BS 8418 which makes them suitable for external alarm systems that guarantee a URN number required by police for immediate response.
